Setting Windows XP SP2 To Allow Mead Control For PTS Printing

(You may click on each image below to see a normal-size version for examples while following these instructions)

  1. After installing Windows XP Service Pack 2, you may not be able to print, because the Mead Print Control needs to be installed. By default, SP2 does not allow automatic installation of content like the Mead Print Control, so you will see an information bar appear at the top of the screen.
  2. Click on the information bar for a menu of choices.
  3. Click “Install ActiveX Control...” on the menu. You will get a dialog box that says the page cannot be refreshed without resending the information. Click the "Retry" button.
  4. A dialog box will appear asking if you want to install the software. Click the "Install" button.

  5. Now a dialog box titled MeadCo Publishing License will appear. Click the "Accept" button.

  6. The information bar will no longer appear, and you should be able to print normally from within PTS.
